Stress Echo
A stress echo is similar to an exercise stress test but in addition to an ECG tracing the heart muscle is directly visualized using ultrasound to determine if all segments of the heart are working properly under stress. During this test, the heart may be stressed using a treadmill, an exercise bike or a medication such as dobutamine given intravenously.
