Direct Echo Service for GP’S

Direct Access Echocardiography Now Available

COS Cardio is delighted to offer a new Direct Echo Service at our clinic in Suite 15, The Cork Clinic, Western Road, Cork. This service allows GPs to refer their patients directly for an echocardiogram without the need for a prior consultation with a cardiologist.

• Echocardiograms are performed by a fully accredited cardiac physiologist.
• A detailed report will be emailed to you within 3 working days.
• This streamlined approach saves time and ensures faster access to cardiac diagnostics for your patients.

You can refer patients in 1 of 3 ways:

1. Make an e-referral via HealthLink by selecting COS Cardio → Direct Echo (available through Socrates, HealthOne, and Helix Practice Manager)
2. Complete the referral form on this page (see section below)
3. Refer directly by email: crochan.osullivan@healthmail.ie

Once we receive your referral, we will contact your patient to arrange an appointment. The cost of the echo is €230, payable by the patient at the time of the appointment (please note that the cost is not currently covered by health insurance providers).

Please note: We can only accept referrals from GPs and other recognised medical professionals. If you are a patient, we suggest you contact your GP first and they then can refer you to us.
