Global Cardiac Risk Assessment
A global cardiac risk assessment is used in apparently healthy people to determine their future risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke. For example, you may have a strong family history of heart disease and are worried about your risk of developing heart disease. Because the risk of having a cardiovascular event is largely dependent on a number of risk factors, risk calculators have been developed to classify your risk as low, intermediate, high or very high. There are a number of risk calculators available online including SCORE, ASCVD and QRISK3. Global cardiac risk assessments can be performed in conjunction with CT coronary calcium scores to improve risk assessment.
