New Direct Echo Service for GPs
COS Cardio is delighted to introduce a new Direct Echo Service at our clinic in Suite 15, The Cork Clinic, Western Road, Cork. This service allows you to refer patients directly for an echocardiogram, without the need for a prior consultation with a cardiologist.
Echocardiograms are performed by a fully accredited cardiac physiologist and a detailed report will be emailed to you within 3 working days. This streamlined approach saves time and ensures faster access to cardiac diagnostics for your patients.
As a GP, you can refer patients in 1 of 3 ways:
- Make an e-referral via HealthLink by selecting COS Cardio → Direct Echo (available through Socrates, HealthOne, and Helix Practice Manager) OR
- Complete the Direct Echo Referral Form on this website OR
- Refer directly by email: crochan.osullivan@healthmail.ie
Once we receive your referral, we will contact your patient to arrange an appointment. The cost of the echo is €230, payable by the patient at the time of the appointment (please note that the cost is not currently covered by health insurance providers).
Additionally, COS Cardio now accepts general cardiology e-referrals via Healthlink. To refer, select COS Cardio → Cardiology Referral (also available through Socrates, HealthOne, and Helix Practice Manager)
