Cardiac MRI
Cardiac MRI uses a powerful magnetic field, radiofrequency waves and a computer to generate detailed images of the heart structure and function. Cardiac MRI does not use ionizing radiation (X-rays) to produce the images and produces the best images of the heart for certain conditions. The magnetic field is not harmful but it may cause certain medical devices to malfunction. It is therefore important to tell the MRI technician if you have any devices or metal in the body prior to the procedure
